What people ask me most.

Why does an oil painting take 4–6 weeks?

The painting itself takes 2–3 weeks. After that the oil has to touch-dry before I can varnish and pack it. Ship it early and the surface sticks to the wrap and cracks. That wait is the one part I can't shorten. I can push a commission to 3 weeks if you have a date.

My photos aren't great. Does that matter?

Usually not. I've worked from old prints, dim kitchen light, and photos that are a little out of focus. Send me what you have. If it isn't enough to work from, I'll tell you straight.

Do I pay anything now?

No. This site never charges you anything. You send me the details, I email a firm quote within 24 hours, and payment only comes up after you say yes.

Do you ship outside the US?

Yes, anywhere. I quote shipping separately and it shows as its own line in your quote.

How many photos do you need?

3–4 is enough. One straight on, one from the side, and the one that looks the most like them to you. Phone photos are fine.

Will I see it before it's finished?

Yes. You get a progress photo three times: early, partway through, and before I pack it. Two revisions are included. Tell me what's off and be specific — the eyes, the set of the ears, the color of the coat.
